I talked about buying myself a new laptop some months ago. Well, I’ve finally gone ahead and ordered it, and I’ll be picking it up today. All this in preparation of the eventual release of MechWarrior Online. But what this also means is that the PC gaming world is now completely open up to me, and I get my pick of the lot.

One thing I aim to do is re-educate myself to PC gaming with some quality recent releases: Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Witcher 2, Total War: Shogun 2. I also want to revisit a number of titles whose PC versions are reputed to be even better than its original console iterations: Alan Wake, Mirror’s Edge
But considering that the laptop is a little beast (with quad core processor, 16gb ram, and a 3gb Nvidia GTX580M graphics card), I really want something that’ll push this baby to the edge. There doesn’t appear to be any noteworthy releases this week to fulfil my purposes, so I’m looking for suggestions. I’ve already mentioned a few games that fall into this category, and can probably think of a few more, such as Crysis 2, or Modern Warfare 3. I could even go ARMA 2, or Microsoft Flight.
So I look towards you to suggest a game that can test my new laptop. Tell me which game I can get to bring my new rig to its knees.
